President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience attended the mass funeral service for the Bayelsa female politicians who lost their lives after a ghastly accident on East-West Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The accident on 14 February claimed 11 people.

Among them were Mrs Elizabeth Allison Oguru, wife of Bayelsa State Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Gimbra Pamowei; Mrs Ruby Benjamin, Mrs Consider Nayam Amadi, Madam Elizabeth Nisakpo, Mrs Ayakpo Franca Otolo, Mrs Acha Pere-Kalama, Mrs Lydia Clara Abila. The driver of the women, Kelechi Onyekwuru also died. The women buried today, were all burnt beyond recognition. Their funeral service held at the Gabriel Iworiso-Markson Cultural Centre, Yenagoa. May their souls rest in perfect peace.
