Mr. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, a.k.a. Pele of Brazil, has been admitted into the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was taken to the hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, with abdominal complaints which forced him to miss a book launch in his museum. A spokesperson also confirmed the reports saying: ‘Pele cancelled his appearance at the Pele Museum in Santos because of health reasons.’ Reports indicate that the event will be rescheduled until one of football’s iconic figures fully recovers. Pele won three World Cups with Brazil, the last of which came in 1970 in the tournament hosted by Mexico. Pele, who spent his senior career with Santos and New York Cosmos between 1956 and 1975, led Brazil to victory at the FIFA World Cup tournaments in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
