The remains of the former First Lady of Old Anambra State, and mother-in-law of late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Chief Mrs. Caroline Onoh, would be interred on August 5, 2016. The burial date was fixed at the weekend after an enlarged meeting of the Onoh family at their ancestral home, Enugu-Ngwo, Enugu state, according to a statement by one of the sons of the late matriarch, Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh. The release noted that the late former First Lady would be buried on Friday August 5 2016 at their family home, Enugu-Ngwo, after accompanying rites such as church services. Onoh Jnr, who is the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Special Projects, said their mother lived a fulfilled life for which their family is grateful to God, stating that further details of the burial arrangement would be made known in due course.Aged 81, late Mrs. Caroline Onoh was the widow of the late former Governor of Old Anambra state and founding father of the present Enugu state, Dr. Christian Chukwuma Onoh, popularly referred to as C. C. Onoh. Dr. Onoh Jnr. stated that their mother passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her children, grandchildren and cousins, at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, on Friday June 17 2016.
He enjoyed all those sympathizng with their family to take solace in the fulfillment of the biblical scripture which stated that to dust shall all mortal return. The matriarch is survived by: Cambridge writer and publisher of the UK based Cannanstar publishers UK, Nuzo Onoh; Mrs. Stella Nwoga Anyanebechi; current Nigerian ambassadorial nominee, Miss Lilian Ijeukwu Onoh; former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain and wife of the late Igbo leader Iyom Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu; Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, a former member of Enugu state House of Assembly who is presently the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu state on special projects; and Mr. GB Onoh who was formerly Enugu state commissioner for land, commerce and chairman, Enugu local government municipality.
