Lagos Mainland yesterday when a suspected hoodlum, identified as Sunday Terror, died in police custody. Terror who had terrorised the area and had been on the police wanted list for over seven months was arrested around 11.20am on Ondo Street, following a tip-off. Terror was, however, caught while the others escaped with gunshot wounds through the waterside. It was gathered that Terror who was with his gang members identified as Dagbe, Omosoku and Oshankele, opened fire on sighting the police. When the news of Terror’s arrest filtered in, residents, including market women and traditional rulers blocked the express road while reportedly saying he should not be taken to the hospital.

An eyewitness at Denton Police Station, said the suspect reportedly confessed to have carried out all forms of atrocities, including armed robbery, killings, beheading a cult member as well as raping of daughters of traditional rulers at gunpoint, before he bled to death at about 1pm. Police spokesperson Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Terror’s death, adding that a locally-made pistol and an axe were recovered from him. She said the police is on the trail of the fleeing suspects.
