Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has named Alhaji Mahmud Yakubu as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. Yakubu was former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund. Full story after cut.....
Alhaji Yakubu's appointment was approved during the council of state meeting which held at the state house today October 21st. He takes over from acting chairman Mrs. Amina Zakari who has been in the office since Attahiru Jega left in June. She was appointed INEC commissioner for the North-East.
