Germanwings Plane With 150 On Board Vanish And Crashes In French Alps
A German low cost Airline known as Germanwings, an airbus operated by Lufthansa crashed in a remote snowy area of the French Alps on Tuesday and all 150 on board were feared dead. Flight 4U9525 disappeared from radar around 45 minutes after leaving Barcelona in Spain for Dusseldorf in Germany at 10am local time. It is believed to have come down in the Digne area of southern France. The pilot had issued a distress call at 0947 GMT (0547 ET), about 52 minutes after take-off. The aircraft seems to have made a sharp descent from its cruising height of 35,000 feet and appears to have lost complete control and went down in 8 minutes. French President Francois Hollande confirmed the crash and said he expects there to be "no survivors." Our prayers go out to the families.
