President Goodluck Jonathan’s younger sister, Nancy Jonathan-Olei, died on Sunday January 4th 2015, a statement from the family said. The announcement is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, in Abuja. According to the statement, Mrs Jonathan-Olei, 52, passed on in the early hours at a hospital in Yenagoa after a brief illness. Burial arrangements to be announced later by family. APC released a statement consoling President Jonathan. Here is the statement signed by APC's National Secretary Lai Mohammed:
"We pray that God will grant repose to the soul of the departed, comfort the President and his entire family and give them the strength to bear their loss. We also wish the immediate family of the deceased God’s succour in their moment of darkness,” he wrote.
