Police Raid ‘Baby Factory in Abia

The Abia State Police Command has paraded two nurses and four pregnant inmates, among whom was one with a two year old baby, disclosing that they were rescued during a raid of a hospital allegedly used as baby factory.The Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna , who paraded the suspects in Umuahia, noted that men of the Command were still on the trail of the Medical Director of the private hospital located at Ihie Umudem Isuochi in Umunneochi council of the state who fled during the raid.According to him, the fleeing doctor, whose name was not given, and the nurses were using the hospital as shelter for young women with unwanted pregnancy only to buy off the babies upon delivery and in turns sell them to willing buyers.
