The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast came together to say an emotional farewell to Uncle Phil 'James Avery' on Saturday, January 11th. They reunited for a special memorial and Ribeiro posted a photo of the cast, minus Will Smith, with Avery’s wife, Barbara. Alfonso wrote “We said goodbye to the amazing James Avery last night. I was honored to host the memorial for Barbara Avery. It was a wonderful tribute and celebration of his life. He will be deeply missed”. Avery, who played Uncle Phil on the 90s sitcom, passed away on December 31st from complications following open heart surgery. He was 68 years old.
