Nigeria's First Lady Aisha Buhari Interested In Welfare Of Korede, The Chained 9yr Old Boy

Hajia Aisha Buhari, the wife of president Buhari according to report, is interested in the welfare of Korede, the 9yr old boy, chained by his father for over a month. According to Ogun State 1st lady, Olufunso Amosun who paid a visit to the boy at the Children’s Ward of the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, 'the President’s wife is interested in the welfare and speedy rehabilitation of the boy.' She said, “It is reassuring that the boy is doing well despite all what he was subjected to. We were worried that we would see a dejected and withdrawn child, but we are seeing Korede that is active with his mind alert. The mother of the nation has followed the case when it first broke and she is still following it. She (Aisha Buhari) is very passionate about it, she wants to know the boy’s condition and is compassionate about the case.”

Korede, on his own part, begged Amosun not to allow anybody to return him to his father’s house. Korede, who was chained by his father, Francis, for over a month over allegation of stealing, was rescued last Friday by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Ogun State Police Command.
